Abstract
The article ’Option Agreements’ by O. V. Nesterova discusses the the concept and types of option agreements and their application, using historical, comparative and analytical methods of scientific research. The author analyses the Kazakhstani regulation of option agreements in the field of venture capital financing and stock trading. The author distinguishes option agreements from related legal structures: preliminary agreement, conditional transaction, subscription agreement, framework agreement, protocol (memorandum) of intent and agreement with open terms. Based on the practice of Kazakhstani courts, the article analyses the practical aspects of concluding and performing option agreements under Kazakhstani law.
